CORE: Break The Noise

Breaking through the noise into the foiling world.

The infamous black and white kites that take over the sky on windy days. CORE is known for their extremely high quality kites, control bars, and the carved boards. Now they are adding hydrofoils to their repertoire. This will pair nicely with their foil kite they have had for a few years now. Here are some specs CORE has provided on their new foils with two different masts and wings.

SLC Foilboard : Sporty. And intuitive.

The all-new SLC Foilboard is your ticket to foil. Experience accessible high performance in a light, responsive, and durable platform. Get the feedback you need when you need it with the new SLC and feel how a tuned carbon foilboard elevates foil behavior into an adrenaline-fueled performance. The proven 90mm extra long US BOX Track System is compatible with most foils and offers the maximum flexibility to adjust your ride. This board comes in: 115cm, 125cm, and a 135cm.

Features:

  • PVC CARBON SANDWICH: Strong. Lightweight. And responsive.
  • BEVELED RAILS: Increased heel angle. Improved touchdown recovery.
  • CHANNELS: Hull shape improves touchdown behavior.
  • FOIL ROCKER: Balanced. Forgiving. And excellent feedback.
  • STRAP READY: Stainless steel strap inserts for maximum durability.
  • MAST BOX: 90mm Double US BOX Track System

WING: This wing’s got personality.

Our global team of highly experienced foilers designed a confidence-inspiring shape that delivers balanced control and predictable behavior over a wide range of water conditions from flat water to beach surf. Slow or fast. Flatwater or bubbly beach break. New or experienced. Foil better with the SLC Wing. The wing is offered in a 1,000cm and 1250cm.

Which wing should I choose? Wing choice is a matter of personal preference. Surf foilers will tend to ride the bigger wing while freefoilers and lighter riders will gravitate towards the smaller wing.

FUSELAGE: Hydrodynamic. Efficient. And light.

Our CNC’d fuselage features well-rounded edges to improve water flow over the wing and stabilizer. We’ve maximized the geometric wing connection surface area to reduce twist, improve stiffness, performance, and water flow. We’ve optimized the area between the wing and mast to minimize torsion. The fuselage behind the mast also features a top concave to improve water release. Wing angles are optimized to have a streamlined Fuselage in nominal cruising speeds for extra glide through your turns and maneuvers. We use anodized 6063 aluminum for strength, durability, and corrosion resistance. Equal length, stainless steel Torx head screws are interchangeable and easier to tighten without damaging the head. Comes in one size.

Mast: Silent. Durable. And light.

Our extruded aluminum mast is as light as many carbon ones with the added durability of 6063 aircraft aluminum. And its silent trailing edge design is a welcome relief. Our extruded aluminum mast features a progressive five stringer, thin wall design that reinforces the highest stress areas. Precise fit tolerances ensure the mast fits tightly into the fuselage. Comes in 72cm and 92cm.

Stabilizer: Balanced by design.

Even, predictable flight. Easy, steady takeoffs. And super smooth turns. The larger size imparts a more balanced flight behavior at all speeds. The dihedral curvature lets you tilt the foil into turns like a skateboard for a smoother cruising behavior. Gybes, tacks, 360s, and transitions are much easier since you can feel your back wing and use it to pivot the foil. A high-quality lightweight carbon and PU foam construction is more complex to build than a pure carbon wing but the weight savings is worth it.

Mast Base: Strong like Ox.

It’s lightweight. It’s 90mm mast track compatible. And its hydrodynamic profile makes a superlative connection to your board. The deep mast socket provides a tight, secure connection with your foil. Its low profile and slick form minimize resistance during touchdowns. We lightweighted the base while adding strategic internal struts to absorb stress from the mast stringers. And we opened the screw attachment points for quicker assembly.
