Sailors For The Sea – Clean Regattas

As avid kiteboarders ourselves, one of our passions is Hydrofoil Racing. Elite Watersports, using the Organizing Authority name Elite Hydrofoil Regattashosts a foil racing regatta twice a year (Fall and Spring). This year, we are proud to announce we have registered our 2018 Fall Regatta (and all future regattas) as a participant in Clean Regattas.

Sailors for the Sea is an organization created by sailors looking to do their part to restore the health of our beloved Oceans. As fellow sailors who’s passions revolve around the water, it’s our duty to do our part as well, one step at a time. What does that mean exactly? Well, during our 2018 Fall Regatta we will operate in the most “green-friendly” way possible. Reduce, Reuse, & Recycle! We do want to acknowledge our wonderful past regatta participants – everyone is already very conscientious of the need to preserve our clean waters and keep our event site better than how we found it. Way to go, everyone! This year, we will just kick it up a notch and offer a few more eco-friendly options.

Be sure to bring your own REUSABLE WATER BOTTLE. We will have a water bottle filling station instead of a cooler of disposable plastic bottles. (NO MORE PLASTIC!)

They have 4 key programs that give you the tools and knowledge to take action.

Green Boating Guide: A practical, resource-filled handbook that answers questions like which non-toxic cleaning products actually work and what is the best battery for the environment and my boat. New in 2016, it has quickly become the go-to guide for boaters to reduce their environmental impact.

GET INVOLVED: Like drops in the ocean, sailors and boaters are individuals. But together, we’re creating a powerful wave of change that is sweeping the globe. Sailors for the Sea is a collective rallying cry for a community that loves and is passionate about protecting the ocean.
